Chapin High Athletic Hall Of Fame To Induct 6 Sept. 5

On Saturday, Sept. 5, the Chapin High School Athletic Hall of fame will induct six new members as part of a ceremony to be held in the Chapin High Cafeteria.

The new inductees will be: Pam Bostain Shear, Jerry Bowers, Mike Slice, Andy “Beef” Williams, Roger Woolbright, and Coach Paul Shealy. The 1972-73 State Champion Girls’ Basketball team and the 1982 State Champion Baseball team will also be honored at the ceremony.

The Hall of Fame inductees will also be honored at halftime at the previous evening’s football game vs. Swansea.

 

Pam Bostain
• 6 year letterman in girls basketball
• Career 2,053 points scored
• All State as a junior and senior
• All Conference as a freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior. Conference MVP as senior.
• Girls Basketball – Conference Champions in 1969-1970, 1971-72, 1972-73
• Girls Basketball – State Champions 1972-73
• Girls Basketball record during Sophomore, Junior and Senior years was 64-7 (19-4 sophomore year, 20-2 as junior, and 25-1 as senior).

Jerry Bowers

o Rushed 215 times for 1,104 yards for a 5.1 yard per carry average as a junior in 1975
o Leading receiver on 1975 team with 479 yards receiving and 9 TDs
o One of top tacklers with 78 total tackles in 1975
o 25-1 record in 1974 and 1975
