Preview Chapin/Southside Regional Playoff Game

The Chapin Eagles play host to the Southside Tigers Friday night at Cecil Woolbright Field. Kickoff will be at 7:30 pm.

Southside will come into the game with a 7-3 record (4-3 in region), a #25 ranking in Class AAA (via MaxPreps), and a third place finish in Region II AAA. For comparison, Dreher is ranked #26 by MaxPreps. The Tigers are coached by Jim Butlet, who has a 12-8 record and is in his second year at Southside.

Southside has scored 273 points and allowed 191 points this season. They are in the midst of a losing streak, having dropped games to Greer (48-14) and Chapman (42-27) in weeks 9 and 10. Southside did not play on November 6.

Chapin enters Friday night with a 9-1 record (4-1 in region), a #6 ranking in Class AAA (via MaxPreps), and is the champion of Region IV AAA. The Eagles are coached by Justin Gentry, who has a 36-27 record and is in his sixth season as coach of the Eagles.

Chapin has scored 427 points and allowed 226 this season. The Eagles suffered their first and only loss of the season last Friday, falling 28-27 to AC Flora.
